👋 Meet the Founders

Hi! We're Smita and Dr Krish, and we're proud to say we're founders of Bamboo Buddy based in Fremantle, Western Australian. 

Bamboo Buddy has its roots in the health industry through Freo Dental. As a practising dental surgeon and chemical professional, we were alarmed by the sheer amount of non-biodegradable plastics generated by the dental industry — both in clinics and by patients.

As parents of two young children, we understand the importance of leaving the world in a good place for future generations.

We heard countless frustrations from patients:

  • Eco-friendly alternatives were expensive or ineffective

  • Oral disease that could have been prevented was on the rise

Something had to be done.

We gathered a team of Australian dentists and set out to design, trial, and test our own eco-friendly range of dental products — so families could enjoy healthier, happier, and more sustainable lifestyles.
